Opis kapitalnej akcji z ConsimWorld Forum:
Into September, 1942 in CG VII now. In week 3, Wahoo patrolled in the Marianas, finding a large task force. In the first round a combat event chit was found, resulting in "Target lumbers into way." The chosen meatball turns out to be... a 15t Maru! The roll is a 9, sending her to the bottom. Wahoo then completes the first round by attacking a 1t Maru and successfully sinks her as well. With one shot she gets two ships for 16,000 tons.
Suddenly, with one round to go, I realize that I'm on the verge of getting my first Super Skipper, and already am eyeing the Mush Morton counter. Wahoo gets a good shot at a 3t Maru and hits. But my hopes are dashed by a mere damage result and on counterattack Wahoo is spotted. Now the wierdness really begins.
I roll for endurance: 9
RTB, passing through the Marshalls with a spotted marker: 9
First roll on the transit event table: 9
Second roll on the transit event table: 9
So, in the span of a minute, Wahoo goes from becoming my top scoring sub in the campaign (3 ships for 19,000 tons with another one damaged) and almost generating a Super Skipper to rolling four consecutive 9's and winding up lost at sea. Wow.
